Fashion Student Project: Celebrating Maison Amin Kader 50th
Posted on 30/04/2025
During a one-week workshop, first-year students from the Fashion Business & Marketing program worked on a major project: designing an event and communication strategy to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Amin Kader, a renowned couture house established in Paris since 1978.
A Professionalizing Project Around an Iconic Fashion House
First-year students from the Bachelor Fashion Marketing & Management program were given a unique opportunity to work on a real-world case study with : imagining the celebration of the brand’s 50th anniversary.
An independent fashion house founded by the designer himself, Amin Kader embodies timeless elegance and a deep respect for artisanal craftsmanship. Over the course of the week, students were divided into teams to design a tailor-made event honoring the brand’s heritage.
Their proposals included a scenographed fashion show in an iconic Parisian location, an exhibition of archive pieces, the screening of a short film retracing the brand’s creative journey, and an immersive chronological experience.
Students had to demonstrate precision and creativity, thinking through every detail: venue, guest list, catering, service providers, event timeline… Every choice had to be justified and aligned with the identity and universe of Maison Amin Kader.
The project extended beyond the physical event: students also had to devise a media strategy. Digital campaigns, editorial calendars, social media activations, influencer collaborations... Each initiative needed to reflect the brand’s values and fit into a comprehensive communication plan.
Defending Their Vision in Front of Industry Experts
At the end of the week, each team presented their project to a jury composed of the AVÌìÌà Paris director and the communications director of Maison Amin Kader.
The presentation exercise introduced an additional challenge: defending their creative choices and demonstrating the consistency and feasibility of their project before fashion professionals.
The jury carefully assessed the feasibility of the proposals, budget management, relevance of venue selections, and guest lists. Exchanges with the jury sharpened students’ critical thinking skills, strengthened their proposals, and gave them full exposure to the demands of a real-world client pitch.
More than a creative exercise, this workshop offered students a concrete immersion into the realities of the fashion business. Time management, teamwork, budget control, adaptation to feedback… Students experienced the workings of an agency-style project: a real test of their ability to project themselves into the professional world and to acquire valuable reflexes for their future careers.
